WHO I AM
My name is Afonso and I am passionate about cycling as a sport and about cycle maintenance/repair. I have been involved in the cycle industry in the UK since 2008. I have worked as cycle instructor and cycle mechanic for well-known companies, and I am a Cytech 2
qualified mechanic. I also have a comprehensive insurance.
I am based in Farnham, Surrey and I am more than happy to give you a free quote if you bring your bike to me. Please note that I work by appointments only.
I repair all makes and models and it doesn’t matter what type of repair or service you need. I can help you keep moving with brake adjustment, bike build, bike service, bike travel packing, hub service, to name a few. Your requirement can certainly be tailored by The Bicycle Cave.
PRICE LIST
Please see below some of the services I provide.
If you need something that is not listed here, get in touch for a free quotation.
- Basic service: £65 (the whole bike is cleaned and inspected - gear and brake tune + all main bolts checked and securely fastened + chain and cables lubed. This service is suitable for bikes that disassembling is not required)
- General service: £95 (comprehensive check throughout the bike + wheel true + hub adjustment + lubrification and any other adjustment required. All main bolts torqued up to spec.)
- General service + degrease: £120 / £130 for full suspension (general service as above + all drivetrain disassembled including mechs and chainrings, professionally cleaned, lubricated and tuned. Rear shock removed and rear frame pivots inspected and torqued up. Labour for bottom bracket replacement is covered in this service if required)
- Full service: £180 / £190 for full suspension (full strip down, all parts cleaned, reassembled and lubricated. Hubs, headsets and bottom brackets are serviced. All main bolts torqued up to spec.)
- Full service for full suspension MTB and Brompton: £250 (full service as above + rear swingarm pivots serviced)
- Drivetrain cleaning: £80 (cassette, chain, cranks, pedals, rear/front mech removed, professionally cleaned, lubricated, reassembled and adjusted)
- Wheel truing: starting from £30
- Brake service: £40
- Brake bleed: £35 per brake
- Hub service: from £35 per wheel
- Headset service: from £35
- Bottom Bracket service/replace: from £40
- Gear tune: £45
- Tube replaced: £25 for regular wheels (otherwise £30)
New parts are not included in the services listed here.
PS, I am unable to do pick-ups, drop-offs and mobile services at the moment, I am afraid, but you are welcome to bring your bike to me for a free quote.
